The wings are abaca fibers wrapped and woven onto a wire form. Abaca cone angel is 6" tall. Her base is about 2 1/4" wide. Wingspan is 4 1/2" wide.

What is Abaca? It comes from the abaca plant that closely resembles it's relative, the banana plant. The fine natural fibres are strong and durable and used in a number of crafts in addition to making things like rope, hats, bags, furniture, shoes, twines, vacuum bags, nets and other products. Fabric made from abaca fibers is said to be able to last for over 100 years.
