Choosing Bells for Your Craft Project

Craft bells can add sound, movement and a decorative finishing touch to all kinds of projects. When choosing a bell, consider both its size and how it will be attached. Small jingle and liberty bells work well for ornaments, jewelry, wearable crafts and other projects where you want a little movement and sound without adding much weight. Larger bells can make a stronger visual accent on wreaths, holiday decorations, school mums and similar projects.

Before attaching bells, check the loop or opening to make sure your ribbon, cord, wire or other fastener will fit. Jump rings and thin craft wire can be useful when the bell's loop is too small for the material used in the rest of the project. For projects that will move or be handled frequently, make sure the bell is securely attached rather than relying on glue alone.
